After completing his residency in General Adult Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. Shiekh spent six years at the Southern Methodist University Health Center, providing medication management, crisis evaluation, and psychotherapy. During this period, he also contributed as an investigator in trials using exposure therapy for treating anxiety disorders.
In 2009, Dr. Shiekh joined JSA Health, a pioneering medical group specializing in emergency tele-psychiatry across Texas. At JSA Health, he provided on-demand psychiatric services at the Burke Center Mental Health Emergency Center, which won the 2011 American Psychiatric Association Psychiatric Services Gold Award.
In 2012, Dr. Shiekh transitioned to private practice, focusing on adult outpatient psychiatry. He offers a range of services, including psychiatric medication management, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families. Since its FDA approval in 2019, Dr. Shiekh has also been a certified Spravato (esketamine) treatment provider.
